Helping Steve again.

His feet are wide and it is difficult for him to work the peddles. Can I bend the peddles to make more room? Cold or hot? His car is a 1915 with a 1915 engine.

Neil

It would be easier to take a knife and trim Steves feet to fit the peddles.

(Just trying to be helpful)

They are meant to be bent cold but I have done it both ways as have many others.

You need to bend them hot. If you try to do it cold you risk breaking the aluminum trans cover. Heating and bending the pedals will not hurt them. You can remove the reverse and brake pedals to bend them. The low pedal you will have to get creative to protect the area from the heat.

Dennis is right, all modifications should be made to the driver, not the car.

Try using the reverse pedal extender, helps a lot, Bob

I bend them all the time cold. Never had a problem. I hold with a big crescent wrench and use a huge Channel Lock plier to bend with.

As Royce said above except I used an adjustable wrench similar to the Ford adjustable down lower than the bend area and a crescent wrench to bend. Frankly, my heart was in my mouth while doing it though mine looked like it had been bent closer to the reverse pedal for some reason. I was just putting it back where it belonged.

There is no need to bend the pedals. There is an easy technique that will allow people with really big feet to easily depress only the reverse pedal. I have size 12's and have no problem. I will make a video and post it onto Youtube showing the technique.

Tom, Anxious to see your video.

Thanks to all for suggestions. Well, mostly all.

I bend them because they are damaged in order to repair them. My size 14 shoes have no problem driving a standard Model T with the pedals in the original configuration.

Bolt on some accessory pedal extenders.

Here it is. Such as it is. When I say "size 12's", I kick the reverse pedal without touching the other two pedals. It happens so fast that it is hard to see.
