I hope someone has pictures, or dimensions, for the wood pieces around the base of the seats (1917 Touring) where the bottom of the back and side upholstery are tacked. Those wood pieces are completely missing from my car and in all the cars I have checked, the wood is covered, so I can't determine sizes or attachment method. Thanks, in advance, for any assistance.

On my 15 with metal seat frames, I made pieces aprox 5/8 x 5/8. I don't think size is real critical, you don't want it too thick as to interfere with the seat cushion dropping down into the seat frame. I made mine in several pieces to avoid bolts for top rests, etc. Scrap 3/4 or 5/8 plywood worked well for the round part of the rear seat frame corners. These pieces were probably the easiest parts to make on the whole car! Just don't get them too thick so as to obstruct the seat cushion from sitting like it should.

The kit I used when installing the seat in my 15 with metal frame used round radius pieces in the back corners. Would recomend using hardwood as I have found that soft woods don't hold the tacks well.

This thread is interesting. I am building a low cowl 21 Touring which has a 5 piece back. The interior structure is real close to the pics thats posted. I was wondering what type of front seat back is used for the the springs to attach to. Anyone have a pic for the front seat back from 17-21?
Thanks and the 15 does look nice. The seat was missing in mine and I was thinking that the seat back had some upright strips to fasten to.
There was 4-5 body makers in those years so it could vary.
I was thinking that the metal front seat backs didnt come till much later. Maybe I am wrong.

Thanks for the picture, Mike. Dale, you used a kit for the wood base? Where did you get it??
John, my 1917 touring has 3 vertical strips or ribs for the back seat, but none for the front. I was wondering about those ribs myself.

Richard, I cannot remember now who made the kit, but he was from Minnesota. I wasn't totally happy with it due to the amount of adjusting needed and that he used red oak rather than white oak for the wood. And yes I am aware that since there were several body makers we can expect to do at least some adjusting to any kit for the 15-16 bodies. Maybe that is why we don't often see kits made for these years.
