Hi.

My front bumper has a bend (both bars). Can this be cold-straightened?

Dennis.

Its likely spring steel. You will need a press.

Thanks.

It can't be spring steel--that's why I had asked the question.

I got impatient (I am off of work today), and I was able to straighten it in a vice.

As to the "aftermarket accessory...yes. I got this in boxes, and if it came with it and I can find a place to fit it, I'm attaching it!!!

HAHA

Thanks, Ted and Bud!

Dennis.

Spring steel bends. If a force placed on it exceeds the elastic limit, it bends. It doesn't matter if it's spring steel or not. It happens all the time to over-loaded Model T springs. It will happen to modern vehicles too.

In any case, glad you gotter done! :-)

Yep. I've been scraping history off of the mounting brackets all day.

Dennis.
