I know this was discussed just recently, but I need to know how much vinegar and what is the ratio I need to dilute the vinegar?
How long do you keep the vinegar in your radiator before you flush it out with soda?
How do you clean a radiator when there is no water pump ?
Drain the water. Pour in one gallon of vinegar. Fill the rest of the way with water. Let it sit overnight. Rinse. You will remove all kinds of rust and crud, including any stop leak, oatmeal, eggs etc.
I used Simple Green (which is now orange) full strength and let it sit until the next day.

This is what i did. I filled it totally full with Picking vinegar found easily at the super market. This stuff is stronger than table vinegar. I think i used a little over two gallons if i remember correctly. You can finish off with water if necessary, because I think the capacity is around three gallons but it didn't take that much on mine. I left this in for a couple of days and drove it maybe twice bringing it up to normal. I think this step is important.
Finally drain the vinegar out and flush twice with baking soda and water making sure that is is clean. I was totally happy with the results and hope it works for you. I am now running without a water pump with great results.
Steve, my wife was not impressed with flushing out the radiator in the shower. I guess I can't clean any radiators until my wife is out of town for a weekend. I tried to post this last night and my granddaughter spilled the beans to grandma on my comment. Later last night we were watching the German u-tube post on MTFCI where the Ipad ends up in the dishwasher and my wife said that has to be Steve's brother.
