Here are some pictures of the front unit
The second and third pictures are of the bracket that attaches to the front axle

And here are two versions of the rear unit

Now here is my question. Does any one have the rear axle bracket they would part with or loan to me to copy?

Richard Wolf had a bracket that fit on one of the bolts on differential. I suspect he still has it.

Are these the original Ford accessory cable snubbers? If so, I have one I'd loan you to copy.

I believe these to be the original Ford units. Perhaps you could just take some good pictures and make a few measurements and I can copy from that. I do appreciate the offer of a loan!

Les, If I remember correctly, my 26-27 snubbers have Ford script somewhere on them. I'll look and see, and take some pictures and some measurements.

I have 2 sets of NOS Ford snubbers and 2 used sets plus 1 set of Burd Gilman snubbers NOS; they made the Ford snubbers for Ford. None have mounting bracket or axel bracket that match your front brackets the rare snubber you have looks right. They used 2 different brackets for the rear, 1 for the touring and another that was used for all the other models. The snubbers should have the word Ford lightly embossed on the back cover of the snubber close to the bracket. It is possible to have the letters BG stamped on the back of the snubbers instead of the word Ford. I'm not sure if these shocks were original Ford issue or if they were made for the after market although they are absolutely identical to the snubbers that are stamped Ford in every detail. The snubbers marked Burd Gilman are after market and made before the company started making them for the Ford Motor Company, I think. The mounting brackets are not the same as used on the factory issued snubbers but different than your front brackets. Other manufacturers made snubbers that were very close to the Ford factory snubbers. However they were not identicle to the factory snubbers and they used different mounting brackets. If you look at the Feb. 1926 service bulletin there is a good article on the Ford issue snubbers and there are some good pictures showing the correct brackets. If you need to borrow Ford factory bracket, to copy, that was used to attach the rear snubber cable to the rear end let me know.
