It must be a fairly hot day- notice where the dog has chosen to lay down.
Dane,
Great photo. Note you can see the horn button on top of the steering column but you can also see the forked headlamp brackets with what appears to be brass headlamp rims.
Lear something new everyday. I incorrectly thought that the Forked headlamp brackets on the Canadian cars were discontinued during 1915. However, the Sep 1917 CANADIAN Price list of Parts [from the MTFCI Digital Library available from vendors [see: http://www.modeltford.com/item/DL001.aspx ] or the MTFCI club] has the fork mounted headlamp brackets listed for use 1909-1916. The electric headlamps starting in 1915. The electric horn button, horn wire, starting in 1916. So based on that limited information and the assumption that the car is "as produced" and not modified (you know assumptions can get us in trouble -- although it appears to be a "hey this is our new car photo) -- I think it is an early 1916 model year -- because it also still appears to have the brass headlamp rims (or I wonder if those were nickel? -- which AU and NZ tended to offer?).
Lot of fun looking up details on that (ok -- I know get a life...). I hope to post a related thread on that later today.
Respectfully submitted,
