hi guys got the nut out ,new lineings in , all back together, took a while but got it started, runs rough, have to choke it a lot, with the spark about 1/3 down to all the way down no change about 1/2 throttle or less dies, seems like the transmission is ok, have new gas, to me it seems running rich, running on batt only.may need to pull carb and clean,as don't know how long it sat,as the seller cannot tell me the same thing twice

Great to hear Ronnie. I've been wondering how you're doing. What have you got on it for a carburetor? How does the compression check out? My '26 sedan has a bunch of bugs I've got to work out. I'm not going to be able to put it into the shop until after Oct 20 and I'm getting excited to get going on it. Right now the '22 touring is in the one side waiting for the tour on the 20th and the Corvettes on the other side. I refuse to put the Vette or the Touring outside so I'm just biding my time. It's really good to hear you got the parts out of the transmission. Hang in there and keep going.

Hey Ronnie,How are your coils? I had one that was dead most of the time and I replaced it with a good one, I can not believe how much better it runs, and that is on only one good coil, I can imagine how good will run with 4 good coils.

Just for the heck of it Ronnie, find an analog voltmeter and see what you're getting for voltage at the magneto post. If it's in that 30+ AC volts range when you get the RPMs up a little bit you're doing great. Hook-up your magneto to the coil box and see if things even out for ya. Good coils are always a big plus. Gus has an excellent point bringing up the coils. Also check out your timer. And of course pull those plugs and gap them somewhere around .025" +/- .005" depending on who you're talking to on this forum. It might also be a good idea to pull the valve cover and see that none of the valves are sticking. And... Oh oh I just realized I'm talking to a mechanic. Sorry!

Hey Ronnie, even sbc mechanics need to know what end of the vise grips round off the bolt head. I was in your shoes a year ago and not only am I a lousy chevy mechanic but I'm also a miserable Model T mechanic.
