Have a used set of clinchers going to be sandblasted and powdercoated. I am redoing a '25 T Coupe (not to show standards). Seems to be a mix of black and white clincher colors.
What was correct in '25? Any other suggestions? Would powdercoating be ok or does it need to be paint for some reason?
btw, going to stain the spokes natural...
thanks

By clinchers do you mean demountable clincher rims? If so, they were originally zinc coated (galvanized). There are two kinds of galvanizing: electroplating and hot dip. The latter is better. Some people approximate the look by spraying on a coat or two of Oklahoma chrome from a rattle can. Here are some hot dipped Hayes rims.
If you're going for "what was correct in '25", the spokes would be black, not natural. I believe natural spokes may have been an option from some dealers, but Ford wheels didn't come from the factory that way. Here are some stock wheels with clincher rims.
