It's a '26-27 rear crossmember from the frame and the brake drums appear to be the larger style. It looks like there are TWO '26-27 rear frame crossmembers! The way the right axle housing is broken across the rivet area, I'd be hesitant to use this rear end except for parts. It's had a hard life.

Looks like a small drum 20-25 rear axle to me.

Pre-26 frame parts. It's too bad we can't really see the drums and front ends of the radius rods.

Most of those parts appear to be '20 to '25. The rear cross member mounted in the middle of the torque tube is a little earlier. (No holes for a spare tire mount!)
Good parts is always good! (grammatical error intentional) Also looks like a good '20s jack handle.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

It is a small drum and the rear cross member is pre 26.

Old speedster parts, it seems? Lowered a few inches with the perches mounted lower on the backing plates :-)
Got to shorten the frame or install an accessory trans, though.

Some kind of a tag axle. U bolt around the torque tube and a u joint keeper device as well. An engineering project gone awry. troop

I suspect it is what remains of a farm trailer from the '30s.
I have toyed with that method of lowering for a speedster. Part of the problem is, it interferes with the parking brake. I have considered rotating the backing plate around so that the spring would mount low (either in front or behind the axle) and the brake could operate from near the top.
Just a few of my silly thoughts.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
