Looking for a manley or weaver crane for my TT.
Keven
My advice, Craigslist nationwide search every couple of days.
I started looking for one a little over a year ago. Several were for sale at close to a thousand miles from my home. My fuel cost alone for a trip that far would be $300+. At an average speed of 60 mph, a 1000 mile (round trip) will take around 35 hours. That seems to demand a one night hotel stay and then there's the expense of fast food. My options usually include sleeping in my truck at a truck stop and packing a cooler with victuals.
I got lucky and found one 40 miles from home. I searched for over a year but it finally paid off.
It was also cheaper than what I had seen far off.
Here's my Manley. I got a little work to do on it but I'm tickled with it. I intend to put it on a "rust bucket" truck on a car frame.
They are out there. Good luck!
Now if I could only find a period tent trailer?????????
A little inspiration:
