I had to replace my reverse drum. Now going back together, I have some issues. 1 is there a bushing inside the flywheel hole for the face of the driven gear face to run against? The driven gear rides against the flywheel. 2 When lining up the Disk drum There is not room for the three shims to clear the Woodruff key. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The driven gear rides, as between the drums do too, did you replace any rivets? they need to be machined flush.
Recheck to triple gear bushings clearance to face. This is to be 0.010 max. If it is more you can't get clearance for the washers. Some tranny's only use two washers there.
I think I found it. The bushings were pushed out at the shop. The end that matches the plate/flywheel was put back in flush. It needs to be reseased a 1/4 inch. I think that will make everything fit-up.
Thanks for the ideas.
Frank, your problem sounds familiar to me. I think I got involved with something that was real close to the same thing. I know when I figured it all out it just fell into place. Keep up the good work and good luck. -Mike
