The plug wires I have had on my '14, have been on the engine for over 25 yrs. They are yellow with a black tracer and the new wires I bought are black.
Which is correct?
I found an original set on E-Bay that was still in the original box. They are dark brown.
If the new ones you bought are "modern" plug wires, which are "resistor" wires, DON'T USE THEM.
If they are the proper wires, with actual copper conductors inside, then it's a question of what the factory-original wires looked like.
I'm not sure, and others will tell you, but I believe I heard that different assembly plants used different wires, and they changed from time to time as availability changed.
I am not an expert but on page 115 of the 2012 Langs catalog part lists number 5209ORE "Original color and style plug wires, show quality. Spark and Mag post wires, Brown, set of 5 wires, 1909-14".
Maybe they are dark brown. Just looked at them and they are Brown. Eyes aren't like they used to be.
Wonder what those yellow with a (I believe) black tracer would be?Had them on my '14 for many yrs.
I understand that the eyes of the reproduction sets are not the original shape.
