Coming back from Hershey today my GPS went crazy for awhile and put me on some back roads and I saw this old dealership. I had to stop and take a picture of it. By the Fordson and Ford script I would guess late teens early twenties. Thought it looked pretty cool and worth sharing.

Jim,

Thanks! I would love to go through one that had been closed for years and years.

Respectfully submitted,

That is really a great find. Do you remember what town it was in?

Hap,this is off topic but
is the Sumter Telephone Manufacturing building still standing in Sumter?

Michael,

Yes, the Sumter Telephone Manufacturing building is still standing. It had been converted several times over the years but is still there. They built building to last back then. And from memory -- that is dangerous -- I think they also produced some magneto and/or coils -- not for the Ford but other applications.

Respectfully submitted,

About 15 years ago a similar old Ford dealership building was remodeled. It was also on a downgrade. When the floor was removed in the show room, several early Model T bodies were found in the space beneath the floor. Pictures were posted. I never found out where or how the well preserved bodies were used.

These are the type threads I enjoy on these forums. That building is begging to have a Model T Ford sitting in front of it as a photo opportunity. It would really be great if there was a Fordson Tractor too. Great picture.

HAHA, nice photo of the T in the garage. We plan on taking a drive to this place next year with my '26 and taking a shot in front. Only about an hour from my house, OK two hours if I drive the T.

And anything in that shop would roll out ito the road, judging by the angle of the floor...grin...

Hi Craig

It was either play around with the photo or go out and shovel 8 inches of snow!
Yep – the scale is way off and so is the perspective.
Look at the slope on the garage floor!
However it was a quickie job and a bit tongue in cheek, based on Mike’s “T in front” comment.
But you can see the edges ??? Say it isn’t so . . .
All right – but it isn’t from the paste in, more likely from
bringing everything in the doorway view a couple of notches
clearer after I had already tweaked the whole photo.

Original as captured from Street View . . .

Tweaked a bit, with extra attention to the ‘thru the door’ shop view . . .

All in all a great view of the building, (and the Speedster - thanks to Tyrone),

But not so good on the Caption <@^@>
Regards
Art
Got the snow shoveled too ---

AHA Art........didn't know it was YOU up to photonanigans....... :-)
But yes.......when the photo is blown WAY up I can see where your tweak is....... <whistle>

Oh.....thanks for receiving our snow!....... :-) :-)
