I am seeking information about different axel stands that could be used for Model T and A's.
I am in the market to purchase one and have seen a couple different ones.
Any information on the different manufactures?
I have seen the KR Wilson and am no sold on the design. I think the other was a Buckeye??
Please reply on what you know about manufactures and availability!
Thanks in advance

Common axle stand. Might be of later vintage.

I bought a single one at at garage sale a quarter mile from home. The sellers had no idea what it was. It was made from a T rear axle.

I think Steve is talking about a stand used in a service shop to rebuild a model t rearend. Used to hold the rear axle at bench height.

There was a rear axle assembly ,shop floor stand shown in the old Blue-Gray, thick 'Dykes' manual ..A universal one, mentions use on Model Ts and the early Chevrolets with the torque tube like the Ts have....I'll look for it..

That was cute Niel. But to be serious I am sure that most everyone here knows to never use concrete blocks to hold something up you will be climbing under. Many people have died doing this when the blocks crumbled.

Gary is absolutely right. Concrete blocks can and will crush with no warning. NEVER to be used as jack stands. :-(

Here's a "vintage" axle stand thats been around our farm many, many, years.
Pieces and parts of Model T's were used for just anything including axle stands. This a 1914 version!stand

That 1914 version? I would restore that! But as it is, with family history, it should be kept as-is. I have a disc (as is used on farm equipment to break up top soil) made into a jack stand. It belonged to my grandfather and I cherish it and use it often.
I will add my "NEVER USE CEMENT BLOCKS" to support a car you are working on.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
