anyone in town that wants to talk modest t. Justtraveling through on my way through the upper states to the Henry Ford .
Are you sure you didn't take a wrong turn?
Osoyoos is just a mountain range away from the Pacific ocean!
I'm south of Tacoma, so probably not close enough but there a lot of active T'ers around here.
There are a bunch around Spokane, too.
Antique Auto Ranch is just east of Spokane and is an interesting stop...especially if you need a T part or two.
Have a good trip.
Been to BC and are on our way back. Going to Spokane tomorrow. Will check on the T parts place tomorrow. This IPad cannot type any better than the big computer. We are on our way across the US to the Henry Ford. Hope to find others to talk to on the way.
Don't forget to stop in Montana and say HI to Uncle Stan (Stan Howe) in Helena.
Bob
John,
Be sure to let us know when you get to Michigan. Couple of good auto museums besides The Henry Ford.
Try these:
Gilmore in Hickory Corners (last town in state to remove crank phones)
Piquette Plant in Detroit. Wednesday through Sunday10 to 4. This is where the Model T was developed and the first 12,000 built. Highland Park Plant is nearby. This one is my favorite!
Oldsmobile in Lansing.
Sloan (GM) in Flint.
Not too far away:
Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, IN:
Studebaker in South Bend IN. Decent college football team in this town.
Thanks for the information. Thanks to Bob Gruber for telling me about the Auto Ranch. I stopped by there today and it was great. I have never seen so many T parts in one place. I appreciate all of your input regards, John
John, I am glad you could stop in. I hope you enjoyed coming to the Spokane T clubs Tuesday night session. I did get that generator all rebuilt before we left to grab a burger.
Hello John,
Good to hear you will be visiting The Henry Ford. Allow a whole day each at least for the Museum and Greenfield Village. A lot to see. My friends and I were there in November two years ago. Had a great time. Wonderful hospitality from some friends in Michigan. You will enjoy it all I am sure. Good to hear from you as always.
Very best regards, John Page in Australia
Thanks Mike, It was great to meet some fellow T people. It was fun to see the shop in action and then the bonus was to be able to look at the T,s that were in the parking lot. It was a pleasant afternoon and evening. Thanks again, John
John, we have the hotel booked and we will be there at least two days. Nice to hear from you. At present we are in Montana. Best regards to you also, John
John,
Regarding the Henry Ford Museum. If you get here on Sunday October 21, admission to the Museum is free as is parking.
Target stores are sponsoring the free day which coincides with the 83rd anniversary of the Museum's opening in 1929.
John, if you are coming close to Pierre,SD, give me a holler.
Noel
John - If you're coming close to Kenosha, WI, give me a holler too.
Keith
Thanks for getting back to me. We passed through South Dakota today so Noel I am sorry I missed your place. Keith, we will be on the 80 but I am trying to make Dearborn for Sunday so I will say Hello now but we will not be able to make up to your area as we have reservations for Sunday night and Monday night in Dearborn. Tom, we have tickets for the attractions so we are looking forward to being there. The free parking will be great. We still have a lot of driving to make it there for Sunday. Thanks,it is nice to hear from everyone. I managed to pick up some parts along the way. Best regards, John
John
Don't miss the Museum Bronze in Auburn Hills along with the Chrysler Museum. Also the Elanor Ford Estate in Grosse Pointe as well as the Detroit Art Institute with the fabulous Ford purchased murals by Rivera. Gosh those are just a few more of the many Ford/automotive sites in Detroit.
Leaving this morning for Joliet, Dearborn tomorrow. Tuesday or so on to the East coast. Regards, John.
Heading to Detroit today
We just had a wonderful trip all the way across the USA. We met a lot of nice people and I managed to pick up a few neat parts for the T. The Henry Ford museum and Greenfield village were wonderful. We just came through the New England States crossing the border into Canada on Sunday Morning. Although we did not go through New Jersey, NewYork and other places that were hit by Sandy we certainly hope that everyone has made it through the worst safely. Thanks to everyone who got back to us during the trip. Regards, John and Ginny
I am envious.
John, you are so lucky to have a great Model T parts supplier so close. I had the opportunity to spend some time with Mike and Hutch at the auto ranch in Spokane. A great place to find parts and information. The rest of the drive was awesome including a couple of days at The Henry Ford in Detroit. Regards, John
