Hello, can someone please confirm the type of coils that were originally fitted to this coil box please? Coil box is fitted to 1909 and has been hacked about badly in the past, I think the original coils were smaller maybe Heinze coils?

The dimensions of the box are 80mm x 238 mm x 122mm
The dimensions of the lid are 238mm x 80mm x 32 mm the lid of the box does not appear to be original.

Thanks in advance.

The hook style latches were used by Heinze but also by Jacobson-Brandow. The box contact style is exclusively Heinze, however. I'd say the box was originally built by Heinze, but more modification that what I see in the photos would be needed to make later coils fit and work.

John, the switch has been changed also. That switch is like the 1915-6 KW type. As RV says, it looks to me to be a box like my 1912 Heinze unit. RV has the correct coils for that box. When I went to a TRUEFIRE ignition, they were not available at the time and most of my original Heinze coils had died.

Hope this helps.
