I thought someone from the forum bought the 1911 touring from Model T Haven?

I see it's back on the website....is everything ok?

Yes everything is OK. I have decided that since I bought the 1909 Touring I would let someone else have this great little open valve 6 rivet rear end 1911 Touring to restore. Mark is helping me sell the car. I have too many cars and not enough room or time to restore it. I hope some one will give it a good home. Steve Redelman

Thanks Rob, I appreciate the plug. I have a ton of question regarding the 1909. Also thanks for posting all your pictures of your cars and of all the events that you attend. I hope to have my 1909 up to the Piquette Museum sometime next summer for a picture. I need to also join the Early Ford Registry. Thanks again for the plug. Steve

Steve,

Not a plug, just impressed by the looks of an original car. Does it have it's original motor?

I see we both have a 09 and 13 T. I suppose this means your about ready for a few Pre Ts? :-)

I encourage you (and any other forum members) to join "The Early Ford Registry". It's really interesting to follow the history of Henry Ford and the "Pre Ts".

Below is the link, along with a screenshot of the topics on the RFR forum now and a pic of the home page.

This looks like the car that was at one time owned by Steve West, then Tom Rootlieb. When Steve had it, the car had a later engine. Tom found an early open valve engine for it. The car has (had?) Ford aftermarket fore-doors, which IMHO are really cool.

With some careful paint remover and some touch-up Matte Black, up It would be a great unrestored "survivor" car!

: ^ )

Tom Rootlieb put a rebuilt open valve engine 40001 in the car and that was how the car is titled. The fore-doors are still with the car. The car is at my home in Kouts Indiana and Mark is helping me sell it. It is a great car but when I was able to buy the 09 we decided I just can't keep them all. I wish I could! We have the 1909 a 1913 and a 1931 Model A Cabriolet and just a 3 car garage. You will get a kick out of this, we have been married 42 years Oct. 24th and the wife has never had a car in the garage over the winter. She either loves old cars or me and I ain't going to ask the order. HA! HA!

Steve,
Your a lucky man. Think how much more she'll love you when you find a Pre-T?

If I could sell my '56 Ford Vicky and a couple others, I would REALLY consider buying that car.

Rob,
My dad told me I had a keeper when she helped me clean the grub worms out of a 1937 Studebaker Dictator 4 door that I bought when I was 16 back in 1968, she was only 15. We got married in 70 after we graduated high school. In 1972 I built a Model T depot hack from the chassis I drug home in 1967, we have had at least 1 Model T in the family ever since. Our kids (3) grew up going to swap meets and parades. About the pre-T she said don't press my luck. HA! HA! But I know that if I found one, that she wouldn't say NO and she is standing next to me as I write this.
Steve

I would love to have it....I wonder if the bank would loan me the money based on it's collectible status alone? LOL

Don't hold your breath William......no bank will lend money using antiques or collectibles as collateral.........if you have enough equity in your home go for it....... LOL ....... :-) .......I doubt there will ever be a better time to BUY.

Craig,

"I doubt there will ever be a better time to BUY". Wow, I've used that same line? Great minds think alike . :-)

Unfortunately, my wife is a CFP (Certified Financial Planner) and would have none of that . :-(

William:

There are indeed financial organizations that specialize in financing antique and collector automobiles. If interested, undertake a Goggle search.

I wish I had the money. It would be a great buy, ship it "down under" and convert it to the correct RHD! It would make a lovely addition to any shed...

David,

Convert it to right hand? Great idea, think I'll change the N and K to left hand steering............ :-)

Dear Rob, Henry started life with the "right" idea and placed the controls on the "right" side. We all know this worked "right" for all of the Fords made. Nice 'K' by the way, looks "right" to me!

Then came the model 'T'. I think Henry was tripping on the day when he went away from the "right" idea and went left!!! Heh, heh...

I looked at this car in 2008 when Steve had it for sale in Springfield, Ohio. Here are the pictures I took. It had 26 - 27 engine and all the lamps were non Ford. Rats had got into the upholstery. The car had its original "dark blue" (looks black to me) paint showing under the sloppy coat of gray brushed on enamel.

Rob;
Do you remember what Mark was asking for the '11?

Thanks Dan. I presumed, since the car was sold, it would have been removed from his web page.

Neat car. I was watching it, but I knew it would go well over my budget...

Richard

Mark put it back up on his website for me and directed anyone interested in it to me. No one contacted me so I put it up on e bay to get some interest I lowered the reserve to sell the car I lost some money but found it a good home and didn't part it out. I just want to get down to two cars my 1909 T and my 1931 A (see other post for a pic of it) I also have a driving 1913 all original that I may also sell in the near future.
