Ronnie, you're truly on your way to becoming a Model T technician.
Ronnie,
We all learn things and many of us relearn or at least experience the same thing again. While told as a joke, it really does have a lot of truth in it from: http://www.broadcaster.org.uk/section2/jokes/psychologyjokes.html
Student Talking to the Wise Man
"Sir, What is the secret of your success?"
"Two words"
"And, Sir, what are they?"
"Right decisions."
"And how do you make right decisions?"
"One word."
"And, What is that?"
"Experience."
"And how do you get Experience?"
"Two words"
"And, Sir, what are they?"
"Wrong decisions."
If you look at your experience as the price of learning a lesson – it doesn’t change the outcome – but it does change our perspective about it. And one of the nicer things is we can learn from other peoples’ experience. That is one of the great things about the forum, our clubs, “how to books” etc. Thank you for sharing your experience.
If you like country songs – Justin Moore’s “How I got to be This Way” may help you put it in a little bit better perspective. [yes there is a commercial at the beginning]

The duty of every parent is to try to teach their offspring the lessons they learned from their mistakes. The duty of the child is to ignore the teachings of the parent and make the same mistakes over again.
So true all.....
Get past that and your next project might be two speeds in reverse and one very low speed in forward, and it is SO easy to do that you never see it coming until you actually experience it
Fortunately, I have been lucky enough to dodge the bullet on that one, but some others have fallen prey....
You have proven that things ain't always what they seem to be!

Ronnie, my car had a bad leak after I did some fitting on the hood and radiator. I thought I had damaged the radiator since it is original and I figured it was just ready to break and my gorilla tactics did it in. The leak was at the top but I couldn't see where from so I decided to remove the rad and have it fixed. To my surprise, I had not gotten the top of the hose on the neck correctly and it was leaking. It looked like yours but not as old and the rubber came back so I could just fix it without replacing the hose.
