First, I apologize in advance since I'm sure this has been discussed many times on this forum. For some reason I'm having a hard time with the search function on my apple devices.

Can anyone recommend a good (reasonably priced) indoor car cover? I'm essentially looking for a good dust cover that is not one of those tight form fit covers. It would be for a '23 Touring.

I thought about sewing two king size bed sheets together that I could drape over the top but figured I'd check here first.

Thanks,
Dan B

Dan,

Two bed sheets sounds like a good idea. The various suppliers all sell covers, of course. You could sew the bed sheet together, throw it over the car, and then mark places to take tucks. Cut and sew the tucks, re try, and continue until you are satisfied. In fact, I may try the same thing.

The fabric stores sell light weight material if your wife will not let you have the old sheets.

how about one of the walmart pool covers with a drawstring, just need to be careful about condensation under it

Eh, I don't know how friendly a canvas pool cover material would be for my paint.

Has anyone bought covers from the suppliers? Seem very expensive to me and was wondering about the fit. Many covers are overbuilt in my opinion. I would simply like to put it away clean and be able to keep it that way.

I've bought several covers from the California Car Cover company. The one I like best for inside the garage is made from a material called "Dustop".

When you use a sheet or other fabric inside a shop the fabric filters the dust in the air into fine particles that make their way through the fabric and get the car dirty in spite of the cover. The "Dustop" material prevents this from happening.

Ask Car Cover to make a Dustop without contours. Just one big Dustop sheet with grommets for rope to pull under the car.

Should be cheaper because there is less work to cut the contours, but it will be more expensive because it is 'custom.' (sarcastic joke! grin)

I have some California Car covers but don't use them any more. They are good ones but condensation does collect under them and the car still gets dusty. Instead, I bought a California Car duster to wipe the car with---works very well. You can get those on eBay for $29.95 and free shipping

I have purchased the cheap car covers from e-bay and have good results but I happened to be at Wal-Mart and saw some inexpensive ones in the auto department for about $35. Good for inside covers and similar to the ones I got from e-bay for more money.

I like it Les!

After looking at the cost of those California covers, I think I'll make my own. Maybe I'm just too cheap but I can't see paying more than 100 bucks for a dust cover. If it was for outdoor use, yea, I could see paying more.

Just curious...does anyone have a picture of their car covered with one from Snyders/Mac's/Langs?

I know a few people that use old parachutes from surplus stores. They like them.
Les, That has got to be the best car cover I have ever seen.

I refuse to buy a car cover from any company that spams eBad or or anyplace else. I have to use a custom search instead of a standard search because of them (I don't know if they are the ones you bought from?). Over a hundred listings in a row is just too much annoyance.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

For a tourer, the best cover to buy, if going that route, ie a small 4WD cover. They are boxy like a T and fit reasonably well.

Hope this helps.
