Got the new fenders installed - starting to look almost complete now. Lots of little stuff left to do, but shouldn't be too long now. Sending the fenders out to be painted - I was going to try it myself, but don't want to make a mess of it.
Also move the battery to the box floor and made a storage box to hide it
...and a nice bench for a few passengers. Nice looking truck there
That truck is beautiful. Did you design it your self or purchase plans from someone?
Dennis - I bought the truck with the body already done. The gentleman who built it did an outstanding job on it.
Needless to say, when I saw it for sale, I jumped on it.
Fantastic. How about some further detail shots of this honey?
Hi Eric,
I will try and get some pictures tonight with some more detail. Here are a couple more.....
hi greg truck is looking good nice work mike sutton
I've got to get a new camera - the neighbour came over and took a picture of it with a good camera. What a difference.....
Wow ... I can smell all that oak from here!
An original 'step bed', eh?
Greg, beautiful woodwork. What are those rear fenders? Can I suggest they look a little long at the rear. It is usual for fenders to terminate a little above the running board line at the rear. Otherwise they look like they are dragging their tails. It looks a simple job to do on those fenders.
Hope this helps
Allan from down under.
Hi Allen,
The fenders are just standard car trailer fenders. I measured the distance between the end of the running board and the center of the wheel and it was 18". Found a set of trailer fenders that had a 16" spread so they worked out well. Had to cut and trim and make brackets, but for 30 bucks each, I couldn't go wrong.
I have been debating how much to cut off the ends - I think they look a little long too.
Sorry - mis-typed - the fenders have a 36" spread.
