Our 1911 has a 9/16" screwdriver slotted shoulder bolt holding the brake shoes to the backing plate. The new "one piece" shoes do not fit, the hole is only 1/2". Does anybody know when this changed?

Don't know Dav, but the canadian parts book only list 1, 1/2"x 1&7/8" from 1909.

Yes, part #2567. This one has me confused and did not know about the difference in our car until I tried to find some rear brakes!

Can you drill out the new shoe to 9/16?

The one piece shoe hole is open on one side and drilling with a normal hand drill is out of the question. I need to find a milling machine or sit down by hand and file it out. I took the old 2-piece shoes and had them rebonded instead, much easier and they fit the car.

I have checked all of my parts books too and they all list the same #2567 bolt. Looks like I have a non-standard shoulder bolt in my diff. I'll correct this the next time round.
