We enjoy taking the '13 pickup out and around town and to shows. I just finished making a chicken carrier to put in the bed of the truck and I'd really like to find a stuffed chicken to put in the coop/carrier to make it look real. I got on line the other day and typed in "stuffed chicken" and got a long list of recipes, but that isn't what I want. Do any of you have a suggestion for a source? I've been on eBay but that's mostly how to raise chickens and build a pen. I did see a pretty good chicken on eBay last week and it looked very lifelike, however it was a beginning bid of about $60.00. Still lookin' around. Thanks

It would be cheaper to get real chickens, and then you could have fried chicken after each event.

John, great idea, I bought a real Christmas tree one year and road around town just to show it off. The next year I a put big boxes in the back of the touring that were wrapped with christmas paper and bows.

Chicken in a pick up sounds cool. Have you tried typing in rubber chicken, chicken displays, plastic chicken, food displays, etc..... Bob

I should have included this picture with the original post. I just finished the coop. Made it from a bundle of survey stakes then stained the thing. Cost about $20.00 total. You will see that I already have the dead rubber chicken hangin' off the tailgate---given to me by one of the grandmonkeys. I'll plan to put the coop and chicken in the back of the pickup.

Why don't you raise some hens? We have ten hens of exotic varieties, and the eggs are the best. We had to give away three roosters out of the last bunch we bought, because of possible complaints from the 'burb over the wall, in spite of their yappy dogs.

John, type in "taxidermy chicken" on Ebay, there is a ton of them on there, some pretty cheap.

Hey, thanks. Didn't think of that. Let's see what I find and I'll report back.

Thanks Kevin. Got on eBay and found exactly what I wanted. The order has been placed. I'll try to remember to take a picture when I get the old rooster in the pen and post it here. Thanks again.

Thanks Robert. I looked at the site you mentioned and the chickens are about the same size and price as what I bought. You never know what's out there until you ask a question on the MTFCA. Thanks for all the suggestions. Regarding the suggestion to buy real chickens---I guess I watched my mom wring the neck of too many in the back yard when I was a kid--- too much of a mess for me---I'll get my chicken meal already done.

Nobody knows how long a chicken lives; they all hit the stew pot first, except for ours. They live 10-15 years at our house, and die of old age.

If you can let them run free, much the better. They keep the worms and bugs in control, and make great fertilizer.

This caused a ruckus in the middle of the night, and the dog spotted her baby in a bush nearby. We got her out, no harm, no fowl. I beefed up the cage after that.
