I just received an email from the new owner of this truck. he wonders if any one knows of it's history.
His message:
John,
I am new to the forum and am learning a lot.
My son purchased this truck at the Palm Springs auction last Feb.
When I returned home from Tucson (church builder) it was in my MH
garage space.
Do you or other CA. T,s recognize it and know of it's history?
Thanks Larry
That's a nice TT. Wish I still had my 22 TT C Cab, but I keep going back in time with my T's. I have a 14 Runabout. The only thing I don't miss is topping out at 18 MPH.
Reminds me of a story! (Doesn't everything?)
About forty years ago, some good friends of mine bought a circa 1921 Mack Bulldog three axle truck a ways outside Bakersfield CA. They lived in Redwood City CA. A road distance of about 300 miles. They drove it home on mostly back roads. Had minor breakdowns, made repairs, took turns driving, and made it home in about two and a half days if I recall correctly. To quote Bob, the top speed "was 17mph. Not 18, 17mph".
Now that was an adventure. Wish I had gone.
It is time for me to start doing long trips again.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
