Door with 'hole' for side curtain rod. The panels of the curtain has a sleeve, and the long metal rods fit into the sleeves, and into the door holes. That way the door can be opened with the curtain attached and swings with the door.

Improved Cars, open '26-'27 have the holes in the top of the door edge, the later '27 have a metal raised collar around the hole, the earlier doors use a cast zinc inserted grommet or escutcheon to prevent rattle of the side curtain rod.
