I have a Kingston L4 which I rebuilt for my 15 T. Runs fine but I recently came across an L2 -- brass and very pretty. I am in the process of rebuilding it now.
The L4 has two very small air bleed passages near the tip of the needle valve (see below)
Did these passages exist on the L2 ?
On the L4 they were small and hard to see, I'm either missing them or they don't exist on the L2.

Never mind. Found the answer in an old post that describes the difference between the L4 and L2.
