How do you square off the end of a small coil spring? I want the first picture to look like the second.
A little heat.
Seems like a grinder would do it.
Thanks fellows, I heated the last coil with a propane torch. Let it air dry and it was easy to bend and grind to the right shape. The coil is for a Perfecto shift lock. The springs sold for the early Ruckstell aren't the same so I purchased the right size online thru Reid Supply. It came in a 3 foot length cut to size. Just needed to square off the ends. Thanks again.
