while waiting for the new radiator and other items, decided to do a repaint have all the rock chips gouges and dings all repaired and primed will block it this weekend. the fenders and running boards, aprons will be gloss black, body will be either red, green or the tannish yellow wifes choice on this one thinking about sanding the bed down and just clear coat it and the spokes.now the question has anyone used the tractor supply brand paint? or just go with a good acrilic enamel? the t will be kept inside my shop when not cruising round;ideas welcome,,and thanks again guys,

The better the paint quality the easier it is to get good results and the longer it will last.

I like Dupont Centari single stage enamel. It is very reasonably priced and available from nearly any paint store in the world. It provides a fast drying time which eliminates trash in the paint, and has a decent gloss without too much work. It is UV resistant and does not shrink much over several decades.

The Tractor Supply paint is imported from China and will work fine for a brief period of time, but it dries slowly so expect lots of trash in the paint unless you have a pro paint booth to use. I guess it depends on how long this paint job is expected to last.

If you want to use an authentic 1926-27 Ford color, here are a few examples of what the 1927 color Windsor Maroon and Channel Green might have looked like when new. Very bright and attractive versions. I know many would say that the original colors were darker and draber but we really don't know because paint dulls and darkens with age. Even if the original colors were not as bright, who wants a dull drab color when these are available. I contend that had these colors been available back in 1927, Ford would have probably used them instead of what was available back then. Jim Patrick

I used the tractor supply paint on the undersides, interior and trunk area on my coupe. I also used Marhyde hardener with it. Its holding up very well, and to be honest I can't tell the difference between that and the Centari on the outside! Time will tell I guess. The only reason I didn't do the entire job with it is because I wasn't sure about the longevity of the gloss.

Royce- It dried just as fast as the Centari and coverage was the same.
