This is the Annual Frostbite Tour of the Olympic Vintage Auto Club (OVAC). It all started about 10-15 years ago when someone mused "I wonder if we can get to the top of Hurricane Ridge ... In Old Cars ... In November !! It's a climb from sea level (Port Angeles, WA) to 5242 Feet to the visitors center at the top. It is about a 17 mile uphill climb.

The tour is on Saturday, November 17th and starts at 8:00 AM at my Shop for a Pancake and Sausage breakfast. We leave at 9:00 and head to Port Angeles to another members home on a private Airstrip. He has Airplanes and old cars.

From there we go to the Olympic National Park Visitors Center for a quick potty break and to find out is the road is open - if it is then we are off to the top. (This is a National Park and there is a fee to enter the park unless you have an old peoples "Get in the Park Free" card).

After we enjoy the view at the top we will return to Port Angeles for lunch at a local restaurant. The last task is to take a short drive out to Ediz Hook, park at on the jetty and stack some rocks for good luck (you must stack an odd number of rocks). Then we return home.

If any Puget Sound Model T’ers are interested in challenging their car and their fortitude, send me a PM or give me a call in the evenings, 6-8 PM. 360-697-1109.

Be_Zero_Be,

The Puget Sound chapter meeting is on the 17th this month so the stars don't align quite right. Then I have an issue of needing to take care of the dogs as my wife is out of town. Just the same, the tour sounds fun and for sure I would have liked to play. Never can tell, we might have a taker or two from the chapter that would rather freeze their tails for the trek. It does sound fun.

I can forward your message to the Puget Sound members who have email. Might be nice to include an email address if you are willing to share it with me in a PM to wberdan@comcast.net.

Walt
