It was a year and a half ago when I dragged this truck into my shop and started disassembling it. Tonight, the body is finally back on the chassis! All it took was 6 strong Mexicans and about 2 minutes to go from this:
to this:
Tomorrow I'll tidy up a few loose ends and take 'er for a spin!
COOL
Cool truck!
Your shop looks about the right size....I'm jealous.
Mike - That truck is gorgeous!
If that's a valid descriptor for a Model T.
Mike,
Congratulations! Good looking truck and probably a very happy owner!
Respectfully submitted,

Nice Unca Mike. What is written on door?
Great looking truck, I'm starting on mine next month. Hope it turns out as nice as yours.
Looks good!

Hey Mike, where is the email address on the truck's lettering
Nice work there fella!
Real Nice Mike !!!
Mike,
Really sweet looking ride! Great job.
Did I ever mention that one time I had something like that up on blocks but higher, no 6 strong hands around, and for some silly reason felt I could lasso the roof good, throw the line over a roof purlin, and then make an end like a bosun chair at an angle and brace myself in the chair like a tug-o-war anchor while someone else kicked the blocks out of the way? Nah...you don't want to know what came next, it WAS really embarassing...but it taught me enough to add a quadruple return pulley on an aircraft cable motorized winch at the ceiling for the next time I'd have the opportunity
Keep up your seemingly annual projects, great fun to watch them develop and finish!
Mike,
Super project!! Got to love those wooden bodied T's!
Wish I was taking that spin with ya!
Mike
You do Good Work!
Mike,
Looking good. I expect a ride this Thanksgiving!

Really great looking truck Mike. Your shop looks pretty impressive also!
Looks great!
Great looking T!
That shop IS way too clean, however.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
Wow.... Beautiful, Mike! Like your diggs too......
Very nice T Mike, and a clean and tidy workshop. Well done. I see the above posts by Kirk Peterson and Mike Perigo... I remember you guys used to be on this forum every day 10 years ago, next thing you know, maybe Flivverboy, Micheal P from Texas and Fred Houston might show up ?
Regards,
Bede
Thanks for all the kudos, Guys. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited to see the body and chassis back together after all this time. I can't wait to get over to my shop this morning!
BTW, for those who are interested, I have the "new" smaller-drum Texas T brake system installed on the car and have driven it without the body to test them. They work great so far. They easily slide the rear tires without the weight of the body, of course. Later today I'll see how they work with all that weight. Assuming all is OK, Ben will offer them for sale to the community very soon. I'll start a new thread on them (with pics) after I'm sure they work as expected.
Looks Good Mike! Your shop looks like you could use a "body lifter" like I made. It's just a big "H" made of pipe with rebar loops at each corner to hook straps for the body, and chains to the hook on the cable that goes around a pully hooked to an I-beam and over to the column -mounted hand operated boat winch. This allows me to remove and install bodies alone! Here's a pic of it in action:
I saved a photo from when you initially got it into your shop but am unable to locate it on this PC. Lo and behold, it's on your profile page :-) I'd drive it in either level of finish. Very cool T truck
Mike, I'm familiar with a lot of different cocktails, but I don't think I've ever heard of a Mexican. I assume it has tequila in it - probably quite a bit if you're talking about strong ones....
Cute, Dick. All my Model T buddies are as old as I am (or older), so we had the good sense to leave this task to some younger, stronger guys. A good friend has a construction company which employs lots of those folks, and he's very generous to lend a few of them to me for a few minutes every now and then. Their superintendent came with them and lent a hand this time. After the move, he said he was glad I asked for 6 bodies this time instead of the usual 4.
I didn't get to do the test drive for the brakes today; I'll report on them tomorrow.
Hi,good job, just got my first 1924 fordor.just starting to work on it,hope it comes out just as good as yours.good luck kenny
