I am new to this so all advice appreciated.
I have had a '23 for about 3 months. I bought it 90% restored. I know very little about the history of the car. The person I bought it from has had it in a barn for 6 years after buying it from a deceased estate. He was told that the motor and box have been done but no proof of that. It does appear as if the head gasket and bands have been replaced.
It had receipts with it from 1979 for parts that have not yet been used so it appears to have been a very long term restoration.
So, I have no idea how long since it has run. Apart from the usual. Eg, oil, water, fresh fuel. What else do I need to do?
Where do you set the adjustment on the NH carburettor?
Anything else I need to do before starting it?
Thankyou
Open the carb about two turns from closed position. After it is running you can adjust it for best operating position.
Other than fresh fluids and a charged battery I would take out the plugs and squirt a bit of motor oil down each hole, pull the crank through a few times with the plugs out and then put them back in if they are reasonably clean. Then jack both back wheels off the ground, place the rear axle on jack stands and give it a shot.
You have the basics from Royce. Here's more:

I've found something interesting on T's. They don't seem to care how long they've been sitting. But, I'd still follow the advice from Royce.
Russell, oil gas water and the Jelf shelf! Every thing you'll need to get 'er and keep 'er running. Enjoy your new friend!
