Model T Ford Forum: Forum 2012: Fordor wood help!

I am currently rewooding a 26 Canadian Foredor sedan. The wood is at best 50% there. The wood kit I purchased is missing one part and a call to them, I was told that they have discovered the part was not supplied to them to copy. So what I need is the dimensions of the back vertical cross panel for the rear seat base. This is the part that holds up the back of the rear seat cushion. If anyone could lift up the rear seat and get this measurement for me it would go a long ways toward getting this project back on track.

This is a Detroit built Fordor. Is this the piece you are asking about?

Don, could you share some more pictures of the interior of tour body? I am needing a little help on the placement of the metal brackets and braces.

Dale, the height of the rear seat base is exactly 4" on my car. Measured from top of the frame sill to the top of the rear seat base board.

Don, thank you, with that I will be able to get a piece of oak from Home Depot down the street and cut one out. Plan to go pick up a "troubled teen" today and have him help me while "talking." Wish us luck!

Kenny, I made all my wood pieces by taking the measurements from the steel. It can be done with a piece of cardboard and shape it to the curve of the back. Then follow the same thickness of the horizontal board (where the steel meets the upper rear window steel). The bottom is notched out at the level of your rear seat back brace and then again at a straight line between the two outside vertical braces.
