i am intrigued to know how many early 13 T's have the 12 running boards with MADE IN U.S.A. stamped on them ??
cheers David.
maybe this will show the detail a little better.
I have a Wilson body '13 touring #W136388 engine #232057. The boards have the Made in USA stamp but the Ford script is across the width left to right viewed from the rear of the car. I believe they are original as all the wood and body steel is intact except for the bottom of the storage area under the rear seat. Does anyone have a detail picture or drawings of that area?
David, are those boards on the runabout? I was thinking your touring was a March build close to mine which isn't very early. Did you ever locate a set of sill plates?
G'day Dan, nope, on the touring, March 19 Build.
Sill plates, no, still looking, but may end up settling for the better version of the reproduction.
Wilson Bodied W96989 orig Eng # 236071 ( big rust thru's )
We are pretty close indeed.
The replacement engine block is two days younger, March 21.
cheers David.
I've been around '13s almost forever, and haven't seen that one yet. Sure would like more information. Could it be they were for export only? Most '13s have that same script running the other way, and that running board is NOT being reproduced. The late running boards are totally different, but similar in appearance.
Hi Larry, car is From Minnesota, that is what was on it when l got it.
I don't know if these boards are reproduced??, but they are certainly originals, late 12 style with the 13 stampings ?????
I Don't Know .
Larry,
Do the '12s and '13's have the generator holes drilled/punched at the factory? Both of my running boards are punched.
Ken in Texas
The carbide generator holes are punched in running boards and splash aprons through about the beginning of the 1916 model year. Approximately summer of 1915 is when the holes stopped appearing in those parts.
I'm surely not the only owner to have these boards on my car ..... anyone else gottem ??
David.
David,
Are the generator holes in both sides?
Ken in Texas
G'day Ken,
No,holes are only on drivers side.
Ken and David,
My '13 boards are both punched.
Dan in Kansas
