Russ, if you are out there, what vintage would this Stewart Warner speedo be?

Nevin,
This is a Stewart Warner Model 131. It is a dash mount unit and the trip reset is missing its small knob. Buick used this speedometer in 1918-20, and it was replaced by the AC First Series speedometer in 1920. The nice thing about this speedometer is that it can be used on a Model T Ford by simply replacing the dial face and installing a Ford type mounting bracket.

I hope this helps, Russ Furstnow

That helps a lot. Thanks Russ. The thing that
appealed to me was the Buick Script as I have a 1914 Buick EX25 that I intend putting a Stewart Warner Speedometer on. Obviously this is a dash mounted unit, and later than I require, but could I interchange the face with an earlier SW unit that could be mounted on a flat firewall?

This unit is currently for sale.

Nevin,
If you are looking for a firewall mount speedometer for your Buick, I would suggest a Stewart Warner Model 102. This speedometer would be correct for your car and is a fairly common unit. Your Model 131 can be mounted to a firewall with the correct bracket and will set at an upward-facing angle. Unfortunately, the dial face is specific to the Model 131/160 and will not interchange with other speedometer models. Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge Russ, I appreciate it. I have a Model 102 on my Model T, and a spare one as well.
