first time driving my T,did about 80 miles yesterday very fun to drive, and getting about 23 miles per gallon.
Scott,
Great start! If possible, let's see a pic of your car. It took me quite a while to learn all the "nuances" of driving Ts (probably still learning). One irony is what I consider one of the T weaknesses, the 2 speed planetary transmission, is also a benefit, due to no meshing/missing gears when shifting.
Enjoy,
Rob
80 miles is quite the "first time drive". Congrats and to echo Rob, post a few pics.
Yeah, Scott, that right pedal is the brake. You don't usually have to run it out of fuel to stop. LOL.
only problem i had was cotter key fell out of throttle rod,and carb stuck wide open, found a paper clip in my girlfriends bag of goodies, back on road.I will try to post a pic,if i can figure out how to do it.
here it is 23 coupe not a show car a survivor
I have a 26 cut down pick up and at best I only get11 mpg. What am I doing wrong? What should I be looking at? Main jet on carb is only 3/4 of a turn open. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains but still it appears I should be doing better. What is you engine set up Scott? I'm running a Texas T distributor but other than that I have a stock engine. Great Looking ride Scott. Any T that will reliably travel 80 miles at a whack is a good T.
i have only had it a month, been working bugs out from sitting many years, only mod to engine is water pump,by my stick i used about 31/2 gal. for approx. 80 miles.i turned my needle out 1 turn, and was on mostly flat roads.
Nice suicide door coupe
Gotta love a suicide door coupe......I sure love mine.......
This time of year I drive it any time it isn't raining and as long as there is no salt on the streets.
