I went for an old time iron bed that was advertised, and paid $32.50 for it. It will sand blast and paint up very nicely. While I was there I bought this for $5.

Steve;
Was it a farm auction?

Not farm, but rural. Estate sale. Most of it was junk you'd have to pay me to haul off. The rest was junk with some good stuff mixed in. They ran it backwards, starting with the part containing the good items, so I didn't have to wait all day. It was one of those sales where they frantically threw piles of stuff together to get rid of it for a dollar or two. One guy who was buying a lot wound up with several #1349 and #2335 wrenches, so I told him what he had.

Nearly 50 years ago, wifey bought an iron bed with brass trim from a farm auction in Ill for 25 cents. We still sleep on it. She also bought a Hoosier cabinet at the same time for 15 cents. I thought she ripped our friends off when she sold it to them for $35 a year later.

Steve did you see that cracked glass? It might let in enough of a draft to blow the tail light out! It might be a bit safer to just get a new light to fix up rather than risk you life on a deteriorated old light you fixed up!

Cheers, TH

It gives a new meaning to the term shot glass. But a new lens will cost less than twice the price of the lamp.
