I bought aluminum molding from restoration supply for my '22 coupe a few months ago and they worked real well. You need to heat them a little to make the bends. They were 3/4" wide.

Thats what the originals were of on my 24 Coupe.
Mine were nailed on and the nails were countersunk in the molding and the holes were filled in and then painted over.

When I originally restored the coupe in 1976 I also used Al strip but I used screws and then covered with filler. It has held up quite well.
