Title At the Explorer's Tree - Wilfred Gibson and Arthur Wilson went to Sydney to pick up his new Ford model T car. It cost [Pounds Sterling] 208. The driver had to get in and out from the passenger side. This was taken on the trip back to Nyngan - Katoomba, NSW
State Library NSW.
No arguments about the date, the poster in the window says Easter 1920. Wonder what colour the body was.
The remains of the Explorers Tree is the stump mounted in the middle of the top of the monument behind the fence. It is still there today on the side of the Great Western Highway at Katoomba NSW. They are doing a long overdue maintenance of the site and the tree is covered by plastic sheeting while the roof is off being repaired. Passed it yesterday. The Gibsons are still in the Nyngan district.
