Greetings from "Downunder". I am sorry to say that I do not have a model T. However, an 84 year old friend of mine has a 1925 French Amilcar which is fitted with and unknown Amercian-Made carby. I have attached a couple of pictures. It is a side-draft, solid brass and the only markings on it are "AEX1 - MADE IN USA" - on the float bowl. My mate thinks it's a Schebler, but I can not find any Schebler exactly like this. It has some tuning problems and the float level mechanism is sloppy. If we knew the exact model, we might be able to locate some correct replacement parts.
Thanks guys, if you can help. I have seen a lot of great carby discussions & photos on your forum!
'Carby'?
Has to be an Aussie. Rhymes with 'barbie'!
Yeh, looks like a Schebler Model A with optional dash control of mixture, which isn't hooked up in your pic.
From "Automobile Engineering" Vol I, 1920:

I ran this Schebler FA in the 1999 Greatrace. It gave more power than a Stromberg OF, but not near the fuel economy.

Yes, Chris, carby ryhymes with barbie - ya can't cook a snag on it, mate, but you can sink a tinnie while you're operating both!
Rick - thanks for the info - I have seen other pictures of Model A Scheblers, but they are not exactly the same as this one, which has a vertical mounting flange instead of horizontal and a fully detachable float bowl. Also the float bowl top is flat steel rather than stamped brass. However, some of the controls are similar and your instructions might help with the setting of the one we have.
I'd guess the bowl top was originally brass, with name and model, and was replaced.
The first page indicates the A was made in both sidedraft and updraft, which was common practice.
Do you have pix of the Amilcar? There's a 1926(?) Amilcar speedster at the Holiday Motor Excursion every year. It has the coolest fenders, which are more like "wings" as you guys insist on calling them...

The Poms callem wings, we callem mudguards.

Picture of the Amilcar - this is a "big" one by Amilcar standards - nearly two litres - most are light "voiturettes" of about a litre.
