I thought I would get back on my lastest project while the weather is nice.

LOL I retired and can't for the life of me figure out how I had time to work. Just too busy, or maybe I am just that much slower and it seems I am busy. LOL
Mike, I retired about 4 years ago. Before I retired, I always seemed to have time on weekends to do some farm work and play with my model T cars. Now that I am retired and have all week to do the same thing, there seems to be no extra time. I must be working slower??????
Bored has not been a problem but I do live on a farm/ranch and I never run out of work to do.
When I retired I thought I'd take maybe six months getting caught up on some chores at home, and then look for another job. After a year and a half I'm not caught up and I'm not looking.
Kinda sounds like either I have a forgiving wife or I got all my chores done prior to retirement.
I've been retired 4 years. The first 3 I was married and had no money so I couldn't afford hobbies. I would try to do things around the house but everytime I did it turned into a pissing match because my wife didn't want me to touch anything. But since I divorced I do whatever I want and I never get bored. Some days I sleep in late and then watch TV until my brain turns to a puddle of gray matter. Some days I get in the model t or the vette and go some place where I don't have to listen to people. Some days I work on the Model T or I practice on one of my guitars, or I cook something I shouldn't have. And somedays I spend the whole day with the dog. I take her down to the river or to a lake. I take her in the backyard and throw the ball for her or we get my son's dog too and then we wrestle and play catch. And somedays I go over to my friends house who's retired and deals with his PTSD with water glasses of whiskey and cans of beer. He was a marine in Nam from 1962 to 1965. He was awarded three different purple hearts and deals with some physical problems. But he's a real great guy to talk too.
If you're bored after only 6 weeks, what are you going to do in the next 15 years ???
Time for another few projects.
David.

I retired 22 years ago the first time and 12 years ago the second time. I find I still don't
have time to get board, there's just two much to do. I might get caught up one of these days but I don't think so.
Hang in there and enjoy,as long as you look down at the grass and not up at it each morning all is well.

I quit my job 13 years ago and went on Social Security.
I now work about 6 1/2 days a week and have no time for my cars. I just drive them the way they are.
I need to work every day in order to make ends meet.
Life's a bitch, and then you die.
Aaron, didn't we already do this with the whole wife's a b_tch thing.
Well, I retired 3 years ago decided to attack some projects that I didn't have time for while working. Got those taken care of and then discovered I'm really freak'n bored. That lead me to purchase a Model T. I figured that it would be a 3 to 5 year project having never restored a car before. The 8 to 14 hour days of restoring took 11 months before the thing was done. Now I'm left standing around staring at it and dreaming up things to do on it yet. Then the question arises as to what to do with it now that its done? My prior career involved knowing 11 different computer systems all with their own language and functions. My current life is checking email and the Model T forum. Life has gone from knowing the Boeing and Airbus fleet and doing technical training on them to figuring out the more complex Model T....funny how things work out. Now, I know there is a transition period involved with being retired, more for my wife than me...but at this rate I'll need a much bigger shop than I have now~!
If you guys are bored...my house needs painting!
I retired 33 yrs ago and still haven't caught up with my work.
I retired in 2002 and vowed never to work to make a living again. I started working on a farm at 10. Enough was enough.
I began retirement by remodeling our home. Next I started planting roses, there are now 50 bushes in the yard, I built a 12x12 shed for storage that is now my wood turning shop. I had a garage built for storage of my George Carlin collection.
In January I bought my first T and added that to the "FUN" work schedule.
My definition of "WORK" "Is participation in the act of gainful employment with anticipation of receiving monetary gain".
It has been the best years of my life.
