Dane,

Thanks for pointing it out. Cropped version showing the 1923 USA touring is shown below:

They were not sure of the make of the car so several folks have let them know it is a Model T Ford. The car appears to be a 1923 USA produced Model T Ford. If the lower windshield had the adjustment knobs showing it could be opened also – then it would have been a 1920-1923 Canadian produced Model T Ford – but it does not have the knobs so it is not a Canadian car. Also it does not have the English fender mounted lights so it is not an English produced Model T Ford which was available in LHD prior to Jan 1923 – but I do not know if the slanted windshield and one man tops were offered in LHD prior to Jan 1923 or if they came out together. If someone knows the answer to that – please let us know. Ref page 141-142 “The English Model T Ford” clearly states that the RHD was introduced in Jan 1923. They also state that in the USA the slant windshield and one man top was introduced in Sep 1922 (pg 140). And they have a Jan 1923 advertisement showing a one man top slant windshield touring from Jan 1923. But I did not see when Ford of England introduced the change – only that it was available by Jan 1923. )

The 1923-1925 Fords look similar. But the 1923 had a lower radiator shell, hood, and cowl from the later 1924-25 production. The 1924 models were introduced during 1923 but just like the new 2013s can be purchased during 2012 – the high cowl, high radiator cars sold in later 1923 were considered by Ford to be the 1924 models. For comparison photos please see the photo gallery on the Model T Ford Club of America. Click on the 1923 years and look at the tourings. Note the 1923 did not have the apron below the radiator nor did the front fenders have a turned over lip to match the radiator apron. I wonder if Ford was careful to only install the lip fenders on the 1924 models or if there was a time during the change over when new Fords came off the line with low cowl but lipped fenders? Even if it did occur – the typical 1923 probably would not have had the lip fender. You can compare those to the 1924-25 cars and see how similar they are.

Nice accessory visor, shocks, fender brace, winged motormeter and I’m not sure if the spring near the left front axle is an anti-rattle device or something else.

Again, thanks for sharing the link.

Respectfully submitted,

Hap 1915 cut off
