Late October, snow in Salt Lake. Still not far enough south to get out of it.

What part of Florida, Dennis? Is this a permanent move? I'm west central, near Tampa. We have a couple of good clubs nearby. Welcome to the sunny South. Bob

Oh yeah, lots of tomato farms in the Ruskin area and spreading out for miles. Also, strawberries, thousands of acres of 'em. Bob

Used to be ALOT of good vintage tin on those farms. Orange groves were my primary source of barn finds tho.

You could always go over to Gibsonton and see all the retired carnies & sideshow freaks living out their final days in the trailer parks scattered about.

Gibsonton, locally known as Gib-town, is a different kind of place. The carnival people will come here for the off season (winter) and many will set up their rides or concessions for maintenance, repainting, etc. You might see a guy with a ferris wheel in his front yard. His next door neighbor might have a tilt-a-whirl or some kind of food concession in his yard.

:-) Luke and Robert got my curiosity going so I did a Google map search for Gibsonton FL and saw what they were talking about.

Dennis,
I would strongly recommend going to see Bud (Schuh)
He has a very nice place with an ocean front view, breathtaking! Bud, you better get that 15 back together soon. I am looking forward to another ride, with fresh engine, on those Florida dirt roads. We'll have to see if you can make it start by itself again, lol

Robbie

I bought a '59 Ford Station Wagon off Ratell Ave. back in '96.

It was rusted slap into the ground, the frame actually broke in half as I was winching it onto the bed- but it did have factory air and a few other choice options. Amazing the things you remember with visual cues!

Your welcome anytime. I've got the pistons in and 3 out of 4 rod bearings adjusted. Tomorrow I will adjust bearing #4 ....not looking forward to that! (Engine in car - working through inspection plate)

Bob
One of my favorite memories was waiting for a flood and driving to Riverview to scoop tropical fish out of the roadside ditches! Do you still have all those tropical fish farms in Riverview ?

Yep, quite a few of 'em. I haven't seen anybody netting tropical fish out of roadside ditches in a long time. I think the gummit cracked down on the farmers letting them escape.
