What is the best way to get all the stuff out of the head and block that a mouse left behind? Dig out as much as you can with a screwdriver and then try to flush it? Use a coathanger?

I want to save the babbit so I do not want to take it in to be cleaned.

Thank you.

Dig it out as you say with probing tools then take the block to a high pressure self service car wash. Or use a pressure washer if you have one available to use.

Flushed a block out using Simple Green solution, and high pressure type nozzle, with the tiny opening using house bib 40psi water pressure.

Worked OK.

Not really mouse nest stuff came out, just his stash of goodies :-)

Michael

Actually came to find out later that a mouse was not responsible for this trash.

Appears this T was run too long by the former owner on a real poor grade of Ethanol.

You can take it in to a machine shop and have it tanked. Be sure to tell them it has babbit and they should be able to hot tank it in a solvent bath ok for babbit.
