I have asked this question before and received a few replies but still not convinced!
I have seen USA 1909's with the speedo head on both the RHS (Passengers side) and on the LHS (Drivers side)ie Bill Ramsden's 1910 recently in the Horseless Carriage Gazette. The speedo cable outer casing i have is definately long enough to run from the RH Front wheel to the LHS of the firewall. Having the speedo in front of the driver makes good sense but is there a definate formula for where it should be located? As my car is RHD it is better suited on the LHS away from the steering column. Any views on that question gents?? Alan in Western Australia
Ford offered the speedometer as an option in 1909. If you paid for one it would have been installed on the same side as the wheel drive. Obviously it is your car and if you like it better on the other side like Bill Ramsden's 1910 then why not?

Here is a 1910 showing the original location for the speedometer that year:
This is the location on my 1910 T.
I would contact Kim for the measurements, so you will be able to sleep at night! His car is 100% original untouched.
