I really want to join a local club, but I want one that does things, not just talks. I do not drive and in a wheelchair, but do like going on "tours", but my drives her modern car, plus I live in the Mountains, so most clubs are down hill for me. My Wife has a Model "A", but I am a "T" guy. Any Ideas? Thank You!
Ken
Contact Dave Huson on this board. If its in Colorado, he'll know about it!

Thanks, Great idea.
No one past or present from Colorado have any input on this?
Kenneth -- My friend Paul Mikeska lives in Arvada, near Denver. I've alerted him to your question.
Thank You!
The Mile High chapter of MTFCA is in the Denver area: http://www.mtfca.com/clubpages/chapters.htm#co

Thanks for the information, now if some club folks could just speak-up too, that would be great.
Kenneth -- I spoke with Paul and he's on a business trip. He said he'll probably respond tomorrow.
Thanks for your help on this, it is a hard choice between two clubs.
Not hard at all, join them both for twice the fun!
That is a good idea and wish I could, but money is tight, living on disability.
The Denver club has more members and a monthly meeting on the west end of town, can't remember but is over by Casa Bonita. E-mail Dave Huston the club up north is also very active.
Kenneth, don't give up on driving a Model T. We have an friend in East Texas who has adapted his Model T Depot Hack so he can drive with hand controls. The wheel chair loads in back, then he slides around the left side on a seat and slides in, then folds the seat out of the way.
Ted,
I am not giving up on driving. I have double vision and as some I know still drive, I just feel it is to unsafe for all of us on the road. I wish it was only being in a wheelchair, this I could deal with.
Jerome,
I am looking at the Denver club, but living in the mountains an hour away, makes it questionable.
Kenneth
Join the Denver Club and make sure that you get there news letter each month. Then you plan ahead on meeting if you can but can attend some of there weekend activities also. Go to the first meeting so you can meet some of the members
and just do what you can. Enjoy life the good way-- with the T people.
Bob
Kenneth, I forgot to mention that the meeting place is a community building and has handicap accessible facilities.
Thank You, handicap accessible is very, very important to me.
Also. I want to be in a nation club too, but can only join one.
What would be better? The International or the Club Of America?
Both national clubs are fine and both produce good magazines. If I had to choose only one, I guess it would be the one affiliated with my local club.
As of the last time I checked in Colorado all clubs that I know of are chapters of MTFCA
Glad to know that, it really helps. Thanks
Kenneth
Your new listings show that your 4000ft above Denver, That's way up in the mountains. What is your nearest town. I lived in Golden near Heritage Square at one time (80's).
Bob
Bob,
I live half-way between Black Hawk and Rollinsville. It takes about 45-50 minutes from home to Golden.
Kenneth
I know your area, I visited the mines and grave yards that are around Central City and Black Hawk in the 80's. I also drove over all the railroad grades in the area (Gilpin Co.)"The Gilpin Gold Tram" railroads. I was lucky to be able to drive over the Continental divide on the D&RG narrow gage grade used before the Moffet tunnel was built from East Portal to Winter park, I don't think that is possible any more. Great memories and you live in a very historical area.

Bob,
The Needles Eye Tunnel is closed again, so you can not drive all the way, but I do hear it may open someday. It is all up to the U.S.F.S.
