i need to order a new radiator, not sure which one I need they talk about replacement or new style, the one thing I know is I want one where the cooling fins go straight across the radiator and not zig zagging between cooling tubes how can you tell the difference?
You are describing the honey comb, verses the straight fin type. Most suppliers offer the straight type in round or flat tube design. The flat tubes aren't original, but cool better. I don't know who is making new honey combs, but they are very salty. Berg's make new radiators and they are good quality.
Flat tube Berg is the way to go. I have two and no overheating problems since installation 5 years ago. Not only that, he is a great guy to deal with.

I agree with Jack and Tom. Get a new one from Berg.
I went down to his shop this summer and bought one. Have not had a problem on tours since. Excellent quality from a very small USA shop and reasonably priced for what you are getting.
Never bought from Berg's but always hear good things about them. I have two Brassworks radiators (California) and have never had a problem with either one.
Both company's have websites.

I'm not looking for a honeycomb want fins, just want to make sure they go straight across not like today's cars where the fins are nested between each row of tubes
John,
Both Bergs and Brassworks make their cores the way you want them AND both of them also have the heavy bar going across the core for mounting, just like the original radiators.
Ron Dupree
I would like to see someone make a radiator EXACTLY like Ford did. No shortcuts!
Over the years, I've purchased several Brassworks radiators. The black ones were fine, but the brass one that I bought for my '14 has been nothing but trouble. Despite having been sent back for warranty repair (which cost me plenty in shipping fees) it springs a new leak every season, just like the 95 year old radiator that it replaced.
My next radiator will come from Berg's.
Does Berg's make a low radiator for brass cars?
I can't find it.
Berg's makes a brass radiator but I don't know what you mean by a "low radiator". I just got one from them for my '14 and am very pleased with it. Berg's does not advertise the brass radiators and I think it is because he is barely able to keep up with the demand that results from word of mouth.
Larry,How would you know? I have built a brass radiator, and it is one heck of a job. Almost all of the solder must go o from the inside . Black ones are a piece of cake to work on by comparison.
