Just what the title asks....
MTFCI does judging (optional) while the MTFCA has no judging. Another difference might be the location of the bulk of members - the MTFCA seems to have more chapters than MTFCI in California, while the MTFCI has more chapters than MTFCA in Michigan and Illinois.

One letter of the alphabet...?
Model T Times covers are generally pictures of members' cars. Vintage Ford covers are generally pictures of members' cars posed in tableaux like historic movie scenes.
The Model T Ford Club of America has a Model T Museum located in Richmond, Indiana. Admission to the museum is free to MTFCA members.
The Model T Ford Club International was established years before the MTFCA; however, the MTFCA has more member families than the MTFCI.
Both clubs put out a bi-monthly magazine. Many member families belong to both clubs. (We personally belong to both clubs.)
The Model T Ford Club of America will send out a free copy of The Vintage Ford, its magazine. I am sure the Model T Ford Club International will do so as well (Model T Times magazine).
Both clubs enjoy and appreciate the hobby and have great members.
Covers on The Vintage Ford are always one picture that spans both the front and back side of the magazine. The pictures are usually from a Model T event and often coincide with an article contained in that issue of the magazine.
Barbara;
One note, the Vintage Ford magazine is way behind in delivery. I got my Vintage Ford for Sept.-Oct. issue one week and the next week my Nov.-Dec. issue of Model T Times arrived. What's going on? Not good.
Mtfca and this forum made me feel welcome when I was first getting into T's.
So that impression has stuck with me.
Sort of like the difference between a group of people having fun in a 1915 touring and a group of people having fun in a 1916 touring.....
7 letters actually.
And a few continents.
I think the MFTCA is more for the regular guy type of T club.
If thats true then there are a lot of regular guy type of T owners.
I think its good thats there are clubs for everyone to feel comfortable in.
The MTFCI site is up when the MTFCA site is down(sorry Chris)so I joined both clubs. Both publications are excellent, with slightly different content.
Well I heard the MTFCI magazine has more technical information in it...is that true ?
John - I belong to both, so I'm not sure if I'm a "regular guy" or an "irregular guy"! (???)
(......I s'pose some of the club guys would know though!)
Hey Harold....your wifey says you're regular!
I'm regular most of the time, but there are OTC medications to help when I'm not....
.....should have known that post of mine was asking for trouble,.....serious thread drift if nothing else!
They each exist to promote and improve the hobby(addiction). They both have youth programs and both have things that the other one doesn't. There technical info varies. I use resources from both so belong to both. I think in many ways they compliment each other.
More prunes Harold!
I was in the grocery store today. They're not prunes anymore; they're "dried plums". Must be a marketing ploy for the Baby Boomers. Only old people eat prunes. I'm easily amused I guess...
There is only one MTFCI in California, and it is the Capitol T's in Sacramento. Generally speaking MTFCI clubs are East of the Mississippi.??
Barbara and Jay have best ribs in richmond right across the street.
Regards,
Scott
The "regular guy" thing makes me laugh. Let's be serious here, we all drive Model Ts. That automatically makes us ALL "regular guys"!
Same as the difference between the Model A Ford Club of America and the Model A Restorers Club.
Nothing to worry about! Join the nearest local club, and then join whichever national club with which the local is affiliated. Of course the price is low enough that you could join both if you wish to.
Living in California as I do, I joined the Model T Ford Club of San Diego which is affiliated with Model T Ford Club of America. I never even heard of the International club until I got to reading this forum. Most of the International chapters are in other areas of the world.
If you want to go on the Kanab tour you must be a member of the International club. I went on the last Kanab tour when it was a Model T Ford Club of America national tour and it was one of the most wonderful tours we have been on.
I have met some people from the International club at the Bakersfield swap meet and seem to have the same interests as us. They gave me a complimentary copy of the Ford Times which is comparable quality as the Vintage Ford.
I think the real reason for the two clubs was geographical location. The MTFCI started first in the midwest (Chicago area) and, for the most part, only existed in the midwest. The MTFCA came along later in San Fernando, CA and, for the most part, only served the west coast and southwestern states during its early years. It's relocation to Indiana is only a very recent move relative to the history of the club. Now, of course, both clubs have regions all over the world, but I think it is safe to say that the MTFCA has more regions on the west coast and the MTFCI has more regions in the midwest and the east coast areas are split between the two.
Same is true with MARC-Model A Restorers Club (midwest and east coast origins) and MAFCA-Model A Ford Club of America (California origins). It's always important to remember that we were not always linked together by the internet and the world used to be a much bigger place!!!!
Paul thank you! Finally something about the thread and not about members constitutions...
I was going to add that all model T people are superior to most regular people.
Charlie B. 7 letters. and a few continents
Harold must be a regular irregular guy that is mostly regular
As for me. I am A model T guy that appreciates the folks on this site and hope the next generation gets the T bug.
If you regularly talk about your regularity then its regular for you to be irregular which means you are regular....sort of....
