I saw a Ford dealer key board on e-bay It's currently at $601 is that a fair price and what do you think it is worth? I may want to get in on the bidding if the group thinks it's a fair deal. It is loaded with keys also.
I'll bet it goes for more than that.
What's the auction number?
E-Bay item number is 221158217773
They always sell for more than I'm willing to pay.
here is mine does anyone have one like this its dated 1923 same as my coupe
this was a gift from my boss
Wonder why this dealer on ebay that has the key board has a set of master keys for $99.95 buy it now and another set of master keys, with the rivet on another auction with 2 days to go for(now) $15.50. ????
Wolf,original Vs repop.
Nice accessory keyboard there, Scott !
Can anyone give a ball park value of the dealer key board w/keys on e-bay?
on ebay if two people want it price goes nuts,if nobody is watching you may get a deal, with that being said....that key board looks over priced already, unless you are diehard got to have every accessory its worth whatever the final bid is.
I wouldn't let mine go ! Value is what you're willing to pay.
I'm glad I got mine GIVEN to me by a Ford dealer that I sold cars for in the early 70's. The only thing that I am out any money on is the keys that hang from each hook.
I remember when I got mine. It was either NOS, or mint perfect, with at least four keys on every hook. It was $500, and no one would pay that much money. I'm glad I did! That was probably ten years ago.
I find it very frustrating when I attempt to make a repro of a hard to find T item then only to find no market for it with T collectors. I spent a great deal of time and money to make up an exact pattern of this key board and then offered the copy for $150 and only to get a couple sales once they found it was a reproduction. In many cases the person didn't know until I told them the item was a repro which followed by it being put down and their walking away. Then I see people willing pay the big bucks for so so originals. So in short I have now scrapped this and several of these "also ran T items" like my Allen coil tester and E&J headlights to name a few and have moved on to better items outside this area. Sorry for the rant and it was fun but it's time for me to move on. Bob
What is an original dealer master key set with rivet worth?
It is worth the number between what the seller wants for it and what you are willing to pay for it. I don't mean that to be snide, but it's all subjective...supply, demand, and sometimes location dictate what the final price will be.
If you want a set for display, then I would get an original set...if it was just to use, I would get a reproduction.
For Bob Scherzer---I think your repro Ford keyboard is perfect and I`d like to buy one. Pls. PM me at pdgriesse@prodigy.net thanks, paul
Okay. What would be a fair market price for an original dealer master key set with rivet. With original patina (rust on rivet) :D I have one and would like to know the average value.
Marl;
I have a couple of those master key sets with the rivet. Think I paid less than $20.00 each several yrs. ago.
I'll give you 30 bucks for it.... LOL
Thanks guys. Upon further inspection, I see there are four keys and each has numbers for the tumbler they will work with. Here are a few photos.
Dang--I thought they had gotten too high when I first saw one sell for over $150.
I'm still trying to find out a ball park value on an original board. I like the repro-board but that is not what is for sale at this time it's an original. That's like asking an art dealer if he wants an original Rembrandt or a photo copy! There is a difference in value!
Bob, don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I thought these would sell. I'll trade you some of them for one of those coil testers.

The last one I saw on eBay went way over $750. I bet this one cracks a thousand. Many times more than the vast majority of T guys will pay. As mentioned above, it only takes two people who want it and will pay big money.
Erik
Bob, I remember you (at least I think it was you) posting that you were making the keyboards, but at that time, hadn't figured out how to stamp the ford script in the metal. Then I heard nothing until now. I would have bought one from you had I known. Also, I don't know why the major vendors didn't snap at the chance to peddle them if they were a quality item.
