Just for fun

Is that you??? I like that little slot head parlor size guitar. I have a 1910 John F. Stratton about that size. Sounds about like that. Or would if I could play like that guy does. Looks like they are having a great time.
Loved it!
Indicate the way to my abode,
I'm fatigued and I wish to retire,
Consumed a bit of beverage 60 minutes ago,
And it went right to my cerebellum,
Wherever I may perambulate,
Terra firma, ocean waves or snow,
You may always hear me crooning this tune,
Indicate the way to my abode.
Hadn't thought of that for 40 years. Getting old, cant' remember what I had for lunch but I can remember stupid words to stupid songs.
Not me: just one of my favorite songs is all. I love this style music and just thought i'd share it. Most people my age don't appreciate this kind of music and tell me it aggravates them when they hear me listening to it down the hall (college dorm).
Since we're already OT, here's my favorite car song. It's about the little Austin Seven, pioneer of under-size autos (plus, a lovely drive in the country):

Phil, as the owner of a 1936 Austin Ten (not quite so small as a Seven), I do appreciate that song....
Notice that the Hunger Mountain Boys are unplugged? All acoustic, and a single mike, just like the days of real radio. I appreciate that.
I can't even listen to anything like that right now, and I am enjoying it! Ever listen to Billy Jones and Ernie Hare? Ever had a chance to see them perform?
Matthew A, I don't know whether to feel sorry for you or what. But I admire anyone that can think independently and decide what they like. The 1920s were one of the most prolific eras in all music history in terms of lasting popular music. The '50s/'60s come close. We'll have to check back in another fifty years to know for sure. To this day, I still recognize many '20s songs in commercials, background music in movies and television.
I need to go get my MP3 player.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
Wayne, if you ever saw the Happiness Boys perform you're a lot older than I thought.

Steve there are 3 Mic's there, one voice, that picks up all sound.
And each Guitar has it's own Mic, that it plays into.
How did this turn into an old song thread ?
OH I get it!
I found that I can listen to almost any kind of radio station on the Internet. Oldies, Fibber Magee, The lone Ranger, ----Want Big bands? It's there.
Best of all I can get real USA news in China. How did I exist before te Internet?
Don't forget the Gravy Boys...

Not too bad for three kids from New Jersey!
They've been at it for three years, the banjo player is nine.
Steve: those guys are incredible. I play Alto Saxophone, but I have always wanted to learn to play a stringed instrument. Those kids have some real talent.
Okay, I finally got to watch the first one. Not quite the Happiness Boys for style, but very good. I really enjoyed it! I'll have to sneak the audio up a little later to listen to the other links.
Thank you!

Love it. It's like a cross between some fast barber shop quartet, blue grass good 'ol down home blues. Like folk...yeah. Good stuff.
