I am new here and I am working on what I think is a 1913 touring . It has a engine number 174613 and a body number under the front seat 91529 with a "B" on the top of the back seat heel kick. Is this a Beauett body and is this body number right to go with this engine. The block has screw in plugs on the manifold side. I can not find a casting date anywhere near the water inlet.
Hi Tom, welcome aboard from "Down Under". The number is late 1912 manufacture; could well be a very early 1913. Do you have any photos you can post?
Welcome to the affliction!
Yes. Us old crazy people love photos of model Ts.
Drive carefully, and enjoy the holidays! W2
Tom,
Welcome to the affliction as Wayne says!
Your engine number seems to be right after the "gap" Bruce talks about regarding the B series engines. December 1912 or so. The B on the rear kick panel should be for Beaudette. It's where mine is.
The block casting date should be to the right of the water port in the driver side of the block.

Your block is an early one. Many of these had the casting date above the inlet, and because of corrosion, and the fact it was probably a bad casting anyway, it probably isn't visible. If you look at that area real close, you'll probably see evidence of a casting date at one time. I have a '13 block like that.
No pictures yet, maybe this weekend. No casting date anywhere near the water inlet. Any ideas where else to look/
