Have someone looking for a 1926 RHD Transmission cover from Canada. . put out a call to our club, but getting conflicting comments on when RHD was stopped . . Thoughts?? Seems several provinces were still RHD till 1923 or so . . .
Ross, you were 3 minutes quicker posting your link than mine!!1 Do you have another set up for sale?
They still manufactured RHD covers of course but those were export items by then so if you are looking in Canada you are searching in the wrong place! Try our Australian friends.
Matt, I am searching for someone south of the border. Don't have 1, but if two are available, I'll put you in touch with party.
Thanks. I've got one source here, but its aluminum and has some damage and a lot of wear. Not the best one and I had to pass. Thanks for helping out with the search.
Young Ross!
RHD was manufactured by Ford of Canada right through the T era (RHD manufacturing in Canada stopped with the 1965 Fairlane).
As your car came from New Zealand, maybe one of the NZ T folk could help?
John
Ross, I have seen a 1926 RHD 4DR sedan made in canada with the 26/27 style hogshead on it. I think the car was shipped from New Zealand to the USA sometime in the 1950's.
Items like the radiator cover, hub covers and cylinder head all had the "Made in Canada" written on them.
The earlier covers were aluminum, than iron and in 26/27 they had the holes on top of the cover to bolt to the engine block like the USA did.
Ross, I could probably find one here, but you know how heavy they are to ship. Let me know if I can help.
Allan from down under.
NOthing thus far in Nova Scotia, but I have some connections in New Brunswick that may have something squirreled away
Allen,
Here's my other post, would appreciate your help too if you can locate me a 26/27 it would be perfect. thanks :
I would really like to complete my huckster build by getting a right hand drive set up. I understand the parts involved and it will be expensive to ship, but would like to discuss with somebody who has a complete set up and would like to part with it. The car has a 26/27 motor, but is being made to look like 14 woody. Similar to Vern Shirks car. (Actually copied his car). Please let me know if you have a source for hogs head, linkages, rods, etc to change my LHD to a RHD. Thanks in advance for your help.
Matt, I located one in England for a friend, but he never followed up to purchase it.
There may still be one available there at http://www.tuckettbrothers.co.uk/
or e-mail neil.tuckett@virgin.net
Emailed him just now. Thanks for the lead.
Hi Ross, I have a few RHD non starter hogs heads in Michigan and some still have pedals if thats any help. It the cost of freight that kills it from here to you but there is a way to get them to long beach every so often for a cheaper price but you would have to find a way to collect... Ray
Matt, maybe you and Ray Green can get together . . .
Hi again, I rang my shipper tonight and I am a week late as he sent a container to long Beach on Thursday and is not doing one for at least 3 months unless some one wants a car sent over to California and he will ring me so no 26-27 but there is still the 17 to 20 covers in Michigan if that helps...
